EnerPHit PassivHaus Winchester

Passivhaus EnerPHit deep retrofit & extension

The PassivHaus standard is a gold standard for sustainable low-energy and low carbon design. The re-use of the 1968 townhouse and complete modernisation, has offered a low embodied energy approach.

Refurbishment and extension of a two-and-a-half-storey townhouse, in central Winchester, Hampshire to PassivHaus Institute EnerPHit standard. The end of the terrace house offered the opportunity to extend into the corner garden. The project features high levels of insulation and triple-glazed windows, thermal bridge-free construction, airtight construction, Mechanical Ventilation, and Heat Recovery (MVHR), and the overall design is modelled to give an energy reduction of about 80%. Due for completion autumn 2024.
