Having been selected for the UCL framework, Rupert lead the team which won the mini-competition to develop the brief and approach to the design of the New Student Centre, on UCL's last empty site to the east of the Wilkins Building, next to the Bloomsbury Theatre. We explored the brief for the building which would transform the Student Experience, act as a destination for students, enrich teaching and research, be distinctly UCL in character, contribute to enhancing UCL’s reputation, be ‘World Class’, and be an exemplary sustainable building.
The project included developing public art strategy with Antoni Malinowski at the intersection of light, surface, and representation.
